Worship and Prayer Sections

Serving in Worship Ministries is part of our Baptismal Calling:

The Outline of Faith (Catechism) states that “the ministers of the Church are lay persons, bishops, priests, and deacons. (The Book of Common Prayer, p855)

Reasons to serve in worship ministries...

Scripture commends it:

Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.'" (Luke 4:8)

Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. (Romans 12:11)

It reflects our core values:

St. Michael’s strives to please God by

  • Sharing inspirational worship
  • Reaching our to and welcoming all individuals and families

How to get involved:

There are several ways to get involved in the worship ministries of St. Michael’s Church. The team leaders of the different worship ministries can let you know where help is needed.

Words from Worship Ministers:
  • “I like helping the church and having a continuing commitment. Being an acolyte keeps me close to the church community.” (An adult Acolyte)
  • “It’s fun to be part of a team and be up near the altar.” (A Youth Acolyte)
  • “I serve as an usher because it allows me to give back to the church. I get so much from the church, plus I enjoy meeting and welcoming new people.” (An Usher)
  • “I enjoy serving as intercessor because it helps me feel like I am serving the Lord.” (An Intercessor)
  • “Being a Lay Eucharistic Minister is humbling. It is a fulfilling experience to serve at God’s table.” (A Lay Eucharistic Minister)
