Acolytes 2007 Annual Report Our current roster includes the following adults, who serve primarily at 8 a.m. and as requested for special services: Shawn Asher, Tina Ferriot, Phillip Asher, David Karoly, and Rod Davis. Youth serving at 10 am, and special services as needed, are: Jillian Zeidner, Mikey Johnson, Alexandra Worlie, Steven Weatherhead, Anna Johnson, Paul Duncan, Shelby Larkey, Nathan Frank, Sam May, Carol Asher, Dean Michael Yurica, Megan Griffiths, Kelly Karoly, Joey Thomas, Johnny Thomas, Alexandra Frank, Matt Murray, Tate Yurica, Mary Buchmiller, and Skyler Riley. Acolytes had training sessions in both the summer and the fall of 2007 under the direction of Fr. George Foxworth. Long-time Acolyte Advisors, Mark and Jane Van Brussell, retired from this ministry this year. We cannot thank them enough for their dedicated service. As we begin 2008 the clergy look forward to working with Alison Weatherhead and Linda Braak as new advisors, or as Linda calls it, “Acolyte Wranglers.” Under the guidance of Fr. George and Pastor Mary, Alison is developing training materials and planning support and encouragement for our acolytes in terms of reminders and celebrations, like pizza parties. Linda’s role will to be present as often as possible on Sunday mornings to assist acolytes in fulfilling their duties and help with scheduling. The acolyte ministry is one of our most valuable and cherished ministries. Parents can support their children by keeping track of their schedules and getting them to church at fifteen to twenty minutes before the service. Submitted by Pastor Mary Hauck, January 2008
