Lectors

2007 Annual Report

Having lay persons read the Old Testament and New Testament lessons and the Prayers of the People adds variety to the services at St. Michael’s, and is a wonderful way to be involved.  Each lector reads either once a month (at the 8:00 and 5:00 services) or twice a quarter (at the 10:00 service).

We continue to share this ministry with the youth of our church, led by Paul Hauck, who are our Lectors once a month at the Youth Service at 10:00.  In the past, we were lucky to have Anna Johnson ‘graduate’ from reading during the Youth Service to being an adult Lector.  We look forward to more graduates in 2008!

Reading at the 8:00 service are David Abbott, Cary Adams, Janet Dick, Pat Gilbert, Rick Larkey, Becky Oleson, Carolyn Salls, Sharon Turner, and Jane Vonasek.  Reading at the 10:00 service are Pat Cole, Sue Corbin, Diane Craig, Jean Dahl, Rod Davis, Sue Davis, Dave Decker, Edie Decker, Geoff Fischer, Penny Frampton, Jennifer Franz, Paul Hauck, Marijane Jacobs, Anna Johnson, Art Maxwell, Carol Maxwell, Warner Seargeant, Eileen Thomas, and Jim Weichert, with Frank Brown as an alternate.  Reading at the 5:00 service are Janice Bowdler, Sue Gaston, Kathy Hanson, and Skip Metcalf.  As licensed Lay Readers, Kathy Hanson, Bill Hegland and Skip Metcalf are able to officiate at the 8:00 and 10:00 Morning Prayer services while the priests were attending Diocesan Convention.
