Needlework Group

The Needlework Group meets on Thursdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Friendship Center. All are welcome, whether your attendance is weekly or only occasional. Projects are completed for family, friends and charity.
For more information regarding this needlework ministry, contact Margaret Kendall, 944-2754.

2007 Annual Report

St. Michael’s needlework group meets each Thursday morning in the Friendship Center at 10 30a.m. We are a small group of women who enjoy knitting, crocheting and other forms of needlework. We work on projects for our families and friends though much of our work goes to local charities. These charities include River City Food Closet, where we send baby blankets and other baby items. We also send hats to the Caps for Kids and Loaves and Fishes. In October we sent a box of caps to an orphanage in Romania. Eve Smith crocheted many of the caps we sent and she is sadly missed by our group. Over the years Eve made hundreds of caps and donated them to needy children and adults.

In November we participated in the Arts and Craft Faire at St. Michael’s, which was a tremendous success.

The needlework group welcomes all women, men and children who enjoy knitting, crocheting or anyone who would like to learn. Yes some men do enjoy needlework. We also welcome people from the community who join us from time to time.

If anyone would like to help with our charity projects but cannot attend on Thursday morning please call Margaret Kendall 944-2754. There is so much need in our community and we appreciate any help that you can give. We also accept clean useable yarn.
