Millennium Development Goals Recently, the Bishop appointed Ms. Jane Snibble as our Diocesan Coordinator for Episcopal Relief and Development. Through Jane, ERD is working to appoint a representative in each congregation. This will enable the work that ERD does throughout the world to be made known in the local congregations and to raise funds and awareness for the continued work of the agency. The Bishop asks us to appoint a congregational representative for this work. What are the Millennium Development Goals? We cannot win overnight. Success will require sustained action across the entire decade between now and the deadline. It takes time to train the teachers, nurses and engineers; to build the roads, schools and hospitals; to grow the small and large businesses able to create the jobs and income needed. So we must start now. And we must more than double global development assistance over the next few years. Nothing less will help to achieve the Goals." The Episcopal Church, both in its General Convention and at our Diocesan Convention, endorse these goals and commit to their supportMillennium Development GoalsGoal 1: Goal 2: Goal 3: Goal 4: Goal 5: Goal 6: Goal 7: Goal 8:
