Cursillo Cursillo (Cur-see-o) means "short course" in Spanish. The Cursillo Movement began in Spain many years ago and continues today in the Diocese on Northern California, as well as other parts of the world. The Cursillo weekend's purpose is to raise up Christian leaders for the church and the world. Cursillo is a three-day weekend experience that builds up community living as Christians. Bishop Jerry Lamb supports this ministry in our diocese by attending and giving a talk during the Cursillo Weekend. The Cursillo weekend is a time for individuals to experience self discovery and reflection on their Christian life and journey. There are two Cursillos scheduled each year in the Diocese of Northern California. In the fall, a Cursillo weekend is held at Camp Noel Porter and the spring at St. Sava's in Jackson, California. The number of Cursillistas at St. Michael's are about twenty-five individuals. If you are interested in more information please contact Donna Arellano or Tina Ferriot. |
